Hypothermia, lightning strikes, high winds, medical emergencies—all can befall unsuspecting visitors to canoe country. Journalist Joe Friedrichs provides true stories of life and death in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota.

Joe Friedrichs co-founded the award-winning Boundary Waters Podcast and is the author of Her Island: The Story of Quetico’s Longest Serving Interior Ranger. He lives near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Event is free and open to the public, and mobility aid accessible.
